The University of the Potomac will take care of Information Technology, Business, and ESL students. We have worked hard to select local schools that can meet your needs. We will conduct a series of meetings next week to help you select a transfer school. We will do everything we can to help facilitate this transfer process. While no guarantees can be made, these schools indicated to us they would accept your Stratford credits on a case-by-case basis. We almost had an investor from Silicon Valley, but the actions of the Department made the deal impossible.ĭuring the past week, we have worked diligently to identify accredited schools that can meet your continuing education needs. Without new students, we would not have the sufficient cash flow to operate. Sadly, these conditions made it impossible to continue in operation. In addition, we were required to post a large Letter of Credit. We were only authorized to teach those who had already started. We were barred from enrolling new students. On August 25, 2022, the Department communicated the conditions that must be met during the 18 months. We were well positioned to transfer within the time frame because we had already applied to two other accreditors. We were given 18 months to find a replacement. On August 19, 2022, the Department of Education decertified ACICS, our institutional accreditor. Please know we are here to help you transition smoothly. The dedicated Stratford team is working with several other colleges and universities to enable you to continue your education. NOVA is the second largest multi-campus community. A set of unfortunate circumstances have led us to this decision. NOVA is composed of six campuses and four centers located in the Northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, D.C. The Stratford family has been privileged to serve our students for over 45 years.Īfter all those years of delivering quality education, I must announce with a heavy heart that Stratford will cease operations at the end of this term.
